I used this to upgrade an old white Macbook from the standard 1GB to 2.5GB, by replacing one of the pre-installed 512MB modules. It worked great - replacing the memory was truly easy, even for a complete non-expert like me. All you need is a screwdriver. No problems with the laptop afterwards, and worked much faster with the memory upgrade when using multiple programs. Definitely a great buy compared to the price you will pay in an Apple store or Best Buy.

It was easy to install this 2GB Dell Memory Chip. I had two 1GB Memory Chips installed when I bought the Zino HD, Dell 400 (PC.) I was told that they put in one 2GB Memory Chip instead of two 1GB Chips. I now have 3GB in the Zino. It works fine; but I will soon order another 2GB Memory Chip. It took me less than five minutes to install the Chip. The bottom of the Zino has two screws holding the bottom on. Unscrew those screws and lift up the cover and the Memory Chips are in view. If the Chip does not get seated correctly the PC will beep beep (two beeps.)I might go for a 4GB chip; but I will wait and see. The performance of my Zino with Windows/Debian (Lenny) works fast enough multi-tasking with 3GB; but I would like to see 4GB at least in my Zino.

This is 64Mx32 high density memory. (That is, 32 banks of 64 megabits = 256 megabytes.) Most older Dell/HP/IBM notebooks using PC100 memory will only support 32 megabits per bank. When shopping for memory, be sure to look up the bank configuration. Be careful of sites and manufacturers who don't provide this info.
