Had trouble replacing the memory in a Dell Inspiron 1100 laptop. The computer was still good but needed more RAM to function better. Bought RAM at the store according to the specs for the computer but it didn't work. The specs were right but the memory wouldn't work in the computer. Found this RAM through a search from people with similar problems. This RAM worked perfectly from the time it was installed. The computer now has a second life that will keep it going for years. If you have a similar problem with a Dell Inspiron 1100 or similar Dell, this RAM works well and the price is right.

This made my boring 5 year old laptop like a brand new one. I'm a Computer Science student and this is the biggest speed improvement that I've ever seen when updating a computer's hardware. It certainly made my computer faster and able to open more programs at the same time. It also allows me to not feel guilty setting my graphics memory up to the max setting even though it's shared with the system's RAM. I don't know why I didn't upgrade sooner. I also like this brand and it's one of the top 5 RAM companies out there.

PNY OPTIMA 2GB DDR2 667 MHz PC2-5300 Notebook / Laptop SODIMM Memory Module MN2048SD2-667 Reviews By Customers

I bought this to replace the 2GB RAM which was included with my HP Pavillon DV6500t laptop. I wanted 4GB to run apps like Photoshop etc. Before I purchased this, I had so many questions in my mind regarding compatibility. When I checked HP's web site it mentions that the maximum RAM that can be installed on this laptop is 2GB. I was quite surprised. I then checked the chipset specifications. These HP laptops use the Intel 965 Express chipset which supports upto 4 GB RAM (2GB per module, 2 modules total so 2x2 = 4 GB total). So I was convinced that the RAM would be compatible not only with my HP DV6500t laptop but most laptops that use the Core 2 Duo processors. The reason why HP says only 2 GB is supported is because when the laptop was released, 64 bit OS wasn't very popular. Since 32bit OSes don't have good support for 4GB RAM (yeah the limit is 4GB for 32 bit OS but some of the memory is reserved so you see about 3 GB). So HP thought not to confuse people and answer their tech support queries like "Why am I seeing 3 GB RAM instead of 4 GB), they chose to limit RAM support to 2 GB. But again, the HP DV6500t series does support 4GB RAM.

DDR2 5300 vs DDR2 5400: Note that DDR2-5300 and DDR2-5400 is the same thing. 667Mhz is the operating speed and clock speed (8 times RAM) is 667 * 8 = 5336. Some round it up as 5300 and some as 5400. So its the same thing.

Performance wise, this RAM is speedy! No more lags and grinding drives when running Windows 7 and Photoshop now. I can run a bunch of apps without any hiccups. For the price, this RAM is unbeatable. PNY makes quality stuff. I have bought several other products of PNY before and all of them have surpassed expectations. The quality is superb.

I have no complaints against it and would suggest this as a 5 star buy. Go for the speed! The difference between 2GB and 4GB RAM is tremendous, so its a great performance boost. After getting 4 gigs of RAM, you will no longer experience slow boots, grinding hard drives and waiting forever switching between apps. Also note that to use 4GB RAM you WILL need a 64 bit OS and I highly recommend Windows 7 x64. Its a performance monster

Crucial CT25664BC1067 2GB 204-PIN PC3-8500 SODIMM DDR3 Memory Module Reviews By Customers

This RAM is a much needed addition to the HP 311-1000NR which comes with an extra RAM slot (1GB is soldered on the board). The mini recognized it on first boot after installation and I've been running for 3 weeks without any problems with Windows XP/7 and Ubuntu.

I'm not an HP fan, especially when they ship a netbook like the 311-1000NR with 1GB of RAM with Windows 7 using shared graphics leaving you with about 630MB of usable RAM free.

I added this RAM stick to my Toshiba Satellite T215D-S1150 TruBrite 11.6-Inch Laptop (Chrome) [Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit]. The notebook came from the factory with a 2GB RAM stick in one of the RAM slots, and the other slot was empty. The upgrade worked just fine, and now I'm enjoying the faster performance of a total 4 GB of RAM.
