In the selection there is only on the speed and capacity to search. For normal work you need at least 250 GB of storage and in terms of speed, there are hard drives with 7200 rpm and with some higher power at 10000rpm. Most use ATA or IDE connector to the computer.

If you look from this perspective: common mp3 song uses 5mb of space, 700MB of shared video to 1.5 GB. You know, what you will with your computer so that it is your choice.
ATA and IDE are quite similar, their only difference is that the ATA drive to install more easily and has less cables.

Memory

There is never enough RAM. How much you need is relevant. If you like games that play much RAM, or other consuming processes then you need to take it a lot. Minimum is 1GB, 2GB and the best is the top center of 4GB.

The speed also very important. Why do we need a large capacity when it used to fill fast enough. Memory can be easily upgraded, so do not bother buying too much or too expensive.
